The beloved Lunchtime Enrichment Activity Program (LEAP) will be back! LEAP, is a 4-week parent-volunteer run program that provides small group, grade-based lunchtime activities in the cold winter months of Jan/Feb. This program cannot happen without volunteers, so we need you.
We are looking for volunteers to run a lunch/class activity during lunch periods, once a week for 4 weeks (weeks of 1/23-2/13). Volunteers can help supervise Lego building, board games, craft making, trivia games or anything you choose.
Volunteer sign-ups are listed below by grade. If you have any questions please reach out to Brooke Riley and Sarah Faranda at [email protected]
Lunchtime Enrichment Activity Program (LEAP) Volunteer Overview
What is LEAP?
- LEAP is a 4-week, parent-volunteer run program that gives parents the opportunity to run a small-group activity during their child’s lunchtime.
- LEAP will take place from the weeks of January 21 to February 12
- Volunteers will supervise one lunch session per week with a partner or solo
What do LEAP volunteers do?
First and foremost, the LEAP program is fun! Feel free to pair up with a friend or spouse to supervise a LEAP activity. Below is a high-level overview of what volunteering looks like:
- Volunteers time commitment is about one hour a week (for 4 weeks)
- Volunteers will arrive at Ridge 5 minutes prior to their designated lunch hour to check in and gather their supplies (if needed)
- Children will eat their lunch in your designated LEAP classroom
- Lunch periods are about 40 minutes:
o 20 minutes will be used for eating and cleaning up.
o The remainder of time will be for the activity.
